Yes, gems are the game’s money. They are used to interchange value across the game. With gems you can buy weapons and power-ups, and some objects. However, characters will only join your party if you reunite the specific objects each character requires.

Players will need to stake a certain amount of gems to play a game round. The amount required is determined by the player who launches that game round, so there is no limit on how much to stake, as long as you have enough gems in your pocket. You will have to choose a character to play with and equipe him or her with one-use weapons and power-ups. Additional gems might be needed for extra equipment if you decide to do so. When the game round is over, all players gems staked will be redistributed according to the position in which each player finished, except a small percentage that will be shared half and half with the game designer and Tink. Approximately half of the players will gain gems and half will lose gems in the end.

There are eight types of gems: opal, zirconite, amethyst, topaz, emerald, ruby, sapphire, and diamond. Opal is the cheapest gem and has a fixed value of just $0.000001. Each subsequent gem is worth one hundred times the previous one. For instance, a topaz is worth $1. As you progress in the game, you will play with different gems, and of course, you will be able to exchange gems at the predefined exchange rate explained before. Think of gem types as leagues. Would you be good enough to ever play with diamonds? We hope you will ))) The general idea behind this gem’s structure is to allow everyone in the world to play trivisk, wether they have economic power or not.

The first time you play trivisk, Tink will give you a bunch of gems for you to start playing. Also, do not forget that you can earn gems with little effort if you design popular games that players love.

In the future, it will be also possible to play with real money and cryptocurrencies. However, this feature won’t be implemented in the first commercial release.
